Day 12 - Underground Plumbing & Backfill

Today we got underground plumbing.  I can't show you a picture of that, obviously! LOL.  I can show you the backfill/initial grading of the lot.  It's not as bad as it could be but it still doesn't satisfy me.  It's still pretty far from the expectation set when we moved forward with the Homesite Reservation and Purchase Agreement.  Lots of pictures to follow!

  1. Thanks for posting these.. I come checkout your blog every day and get an update with what's up with my house when I am not there, since we seem to be on the exact same timeline.. We have everything you got so far, and front door, but no lumber, and no tubs!

It seems the grading from the other street (non driveway side) is too sloped towards the house.. I would be worried about water against the basement wall.. Where is the swale going to be on that side for proper water drainage away from the house?

    1. They have told us it's going to drain correctly but it's so steep it's scary. I think we're the only lot in the community that slopes towards the house. It sucks.

  2. Underground plumbing is the smartest plumbing system for a resident or business area. However, it can have a negative impact on the surroundings; such as pipe bursting and pipe relining. These are very unusual cases, and that plumbers are rarely called to fix. This is why it's very important to run a background check on every plumbing company first before availing of their services.
